What is Project Management?

Companies and organizations around the world employ Project Management Professionals (PMP)'s to improve success of their initiatives in all aspects. This is done by having a systematic and standardized set of principles contained in the Project Management Institute's PMBOK Guide.
In December 2005, the PMP credential was tied for fourth place in CertCities.com's 10 Hottest Certifications for 2006, and in December 2008 it was number 7 of ZDNet's 10 best IT certifications. More recently, in 2012 and 2013, the PMP credential has been ranked as a top certification by CIO, Global Knowledge, and About.com.
